After breakfast, we will take a Limited Express train to Matsumoto Station, then transfer to another local train to Hotaka Station. We will take a local bus from Hotaka Station to the Nakabusa Onsen area. Today, we will stay in the peaceful, remote mountain village of "Nakabusa" surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Japan's alpine region. Our accommodation is a traditional hot-spring ryokan (Japanese-style hotel), which has a lovely indoor and outdoor onsen (hot spring). Get a good night's rest before starting our journey to the Northern Alps. Overnight at Ariakeso Lodge or similar

3 | Nakabusa Mt. Tsubakuro Enzanso |
● Trekking Day 1 - from Nakabusa to Enzansou Hut – Round trip to summit Mt. Tsubakuro (approx. 5 hours) The trailhead begins from Nakabusa at an altitude of 1,462m. It begins with a steep hike through the forest. Once we reach Enzanso Mountain Hut, the landscape opens up and you can enjoy panoramic views of the Northern Alps. We continue hiking from the hut to the peak of Mt. Tsubakuro (2,763m) which is approximately 30 minutes away. Overnight at Enzanso Mountain Hut

4 | Enzanso Mt. Otensho Nishidake |
● Trekking Day 2 - from Enzansou Hut to Mt. Otensho - Nishidake (approx. 7 hours) After a good night’s sleep, we continue to Nishidake via Mt. Otensho (2,922m) which is a three-hour hike from Enzanso and another three-hour hike to Nishidake Mountain Hut. There is a short rocky passage midway, and also scrambling using chains and ladders. Overnight at Hütte Nishidake or similar

● Trekking Day 3 – from Nishidake – Roundtrip to summit of Mt. Yarigatake – Yarigatake Hut (apporox. 8 hours) Depart for Mt. Yarigatake (Japan's fifth highest peak - 3180m). Although climbing will not be that technical, there are sections where we will need to scramble over boulders and rocks. The final leg up is a short but very steep section using chains and ladders which can be quite challenging. This is a popular spot for local hikers with spectacular views, including Mt Fuji. 6 | Mt. Yarigatake Yarisawa Kamikochi |
● Trekking Day 4 – from Yarigatake Hut - Yarisawa – Kamikochi (approx. 8 hours) We begin the long and very steep descent over broken ground from the Yarigatake mountain hut, but the views are spectacular along the way back down to Kamikochi. Then, it’s time to soak in the hot springs to rest ourselves and enjoy a farewell meal at the hotel. Overnight at Kamikochi Alpen Hotel or similar

After breakfast, enjoy the chance to stroll around the town before leaving Kamikochi. We will take a bus to Shinjuku Station, located in the west of Tokyo. The tour concludes after our arrival in the Bus Terminal of Shinjuku.

Regular hiking experience is required to participate in this tour. The trails are fitted with ladders and chains to assist your progress so the upper body strength needed to use ladders and chains is a must.About Accommodation
We will spend three nights in mountain huts (DAY3,4,5), where you sleep in a shared dormitory, on a bunk bed, with futon style bedding, the traditional Japanese style sleeping mats laid out on the floor. During the overnight stay in the mountain huts, please do not expect any 'hotel service' type of experience. Also, since there are no showers, we recommend packing body wipes.Things to Pack
You will need to pack for 5 days/4 nights, carried in your backpack, so please make it as light as possible. You will have a chance to repack and leave your main luggage to be stored at the hotel in Kamikochi, where we are staying after the hike.Backpack: Ensure that the pack can be worn on your back, as there will be times when you need to use both hands for climbing in the rocky areas.
Backpack Cover: The weather changes rapidly at high altitudes, and it is common for rain storms to pass through.
Headlamp: After leaving the lodge in the early morning hours, it will still be dark. Each person needs to have their own headlight. It is best to keep your hands free for safely climbing over the large boulders along the way.
Full Rain Gear: With separate jacket and rain pants.
Proper Mountaineering Boots
Gloves: To protect your hands when climbing over rocks and when using chains and ladders.
Layered Clothing: T-shirt, long sleeved shirt, and long pants → Depending on the weather, you will experience both mid-summer heat and mid-winter temperatures at the peak, all in one day.
Winter Clothes: Gloves, hat, down jacket, fleece→ At the summit, the temperature is low enough to have snowfall even in the summer. Winter clothes are essential to make your stay at the summit comfortable.
Trail snacks, water bottle while hiking
*No lunch, drinks or snacks are provided. You will need to carry your own food and drinks for eating and drinking along the trail, but you will be able to buy snacks and drinks during the hike at the mountain huts along the way.
