On this tour, you will experience 2 nights staying on Terui Island and observe the rare seabirds especially Spectacled guillemots & Rhinoceros Auklets. The small boat we will use is the “Keimafuri-go” operated by the experienced Mr. Takaki Terasawa, a nature photographer based in Terui Island. Total three boat cruises to observe or photograph these unique seabirds are included. - Seabird breeding ground sites
In the morning, visiting several observation point of seabird breeding ground where you will see Black-tailed gull, Spectacled guillemot, Common murre, Rhinoceros auklet, Japanese cormorants and more. Enjoy observing and photographing these birds without disturbing them from the observatory, and also the amazing roosting of the Rhinoceros auklet at sunset time. You are sure to be thrilled with plenty of opportunities to observe the active breeding grounds of the rare seabirds. - Enjoy the taste of the Island
Teuri Island is famous for fresh seafood, such as Rock fish, sea urchin, scallops and various other seafood raw or cooked.
Teuri Island ～Seabird Breeding Ground～
Terui Island is a 27km (17 mile) offshore island near to Haboro Town in Hokkaido. From March to July, over one million seabirds made up of eight different species, come to the west coast of Terui Island annually. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the easiest place in the world to observe the Spectacled guillemots & Rhinoceros Auklets in their breeding ground. We will see the beautiful courtship already paired guillemots, and see dedicated parents return with food for their chicks at sunset, and enjoy the excitement & joy of the chicks as they eat. Just some of the rare sights that can only be seen during summer breeding season. June is the best month to observe and photograph unique Spectacled guillemots & Rhinoceros Auklets here on Teuri island.

In the morning, we will take scheduled bus to Haboro to catch the afternoon ferry to Teuri Island, the seabird paradise. In the late afternoon before sunset, we will take a small boat to observe the Rhinoceros auklet. As sunset draws near, rhinoceros auklets begin continuously gathering from offshore. On clear days, the evening sun setting into the horizon and the rhinoceros auklets overlap, and you may be able to see a sight beyond your imaginations. | 3 | Teuri Island | In the early morning, we will take small boat to observe and photograph unique sea birds such as the Spectacled guillemot, Common murres, Rhinoceros auklet, Pelagic cormorant, Ancient murrelet and so on. After breakfast, will visit several observation point of seabird breeding ground by car. You will enjoy free afternoon on your own. It will be great opportunity to rent a cycle and explore the Island. Around sunset time, we will go out for Rhinoceros Auklet Homing Night Tour. -There is no guarantee whether if you can observe or photograph birds mentioned on our program as they are wild birds.
-Boat tour may be not be operated due to the bad sea/weather conditions. In such cases, the actual costs will be refunded.
-Ferries between Haboro and Teuri island may not be operated due to the bad sea/weather conditions. In such cases, the itinerary may need to be changed like shortened or extended your stay on Tenuri Island. Additional costs for accommodation or meal incurred in these circumstances will be paid by customer. Also, there is a possibility that you may not be able to catch your flight in case ferry does not operate. Please consider to take enough reserved day before your flight. We shall have no liability concerning missing your flight or any other transportation.
